Our Sponsors

Together, we are moving closer to a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.

Here are just a few reasons people have shared about why they walk:

"We're all a team - here to support and encourage each other along the way"

"NAMI brings families together. This is the 8th year my sister has walked with me."

"I know recovery is possible, and because  I care about your health"

"So it's OK to ask for help"

"To end stigma. My mental illness doesn't define me!"

"For my mom. Because mental illness doesn't mean she's worthless."

"For my recovery"

"For my other half"

"In memory of grandma"

"To kick depression's butt!"

Beyond helping the continuation of free educational/support programs for your community and helping to end the stigma, click the link below to learn other ways your fundraising efforts are recognized!

Why walk?

No Health without Mental Health - NAMI Coastal Virginia

All funds raised directly support the mission of NAMI to provide support, education, and advocacy to individuals and families right here in our community.

  • The cost of material for one participant in one of our courses including Family-to-Family or Peer-to-Peer is covered by $100

  • $5 covers the cost of one welcome/information packet for a participant in our Family Support Groups

  • For our Connection Support Group facilitators, $100 can cover a yearly transportation stipend or a training session

  • $70 provides one In Our Own Voice presentation

  • Our Quarterly Programs - including a volunteer recognition event - can be supported by $500 which provides transportation for Beach House members, dinner, and promotion.

  • To keep our Helpline running and a space for volunteers to be available for support and answers, $440 covers monthly rent, and $125 covers monthly phone and internet service

  • $30 covers costs of mailing, including advertising, office supplies, and postage

  • Any amount helps us with the ability to collaboratively explore new solutions and expand our programming in to our community. We couldn't do this without you!
